Damage Assessment

In order to obtain direct economic damages of the historical and synthetic Tropical Cyclones and Swells database, the hazard and vulnerability information need to be combine. The software used within this purpose is RiskScape (https://riskscape.org.nz), an open-source spatial data processing application developed by NIWA and GNS and used for multi-hazard risk analysis.

Economic quantification (2010 USD) is obtained at the high spatial resolution of HyFlood Output (5m). The total damage results from the aggregation of the whole domain.
