Damage Functions#

Damage funcitons are mathematical expressions widely used to obtain the expected damage given the hazard intensity, defined as a mean percentage or ratio of its cost to repair or cost to replace (i.e., building replacement cost).

A different function has been defined for each asset (except the population) and the respective hazards (flooding, and wind). In the case of crops, there is distinction of inland or coastal flooding, since salt water might destroy the crop with only 20 cm of water.
