TRAVEL INFORMATION

Airplane
The airport is five kilometers away from downtown Santander and it has daily connections with Madrid and Barcelona. The flight from Madrid takes about 40 minutes and about 60 minutes for Barcelona. These domestic flights are operated by IBERIA and the low cost company RYANAIR . There are also international flights, which are operated by the low cost Irish company. There are flights connecting London-Santander, Rome-Santander and Frankfurt-Santander. Taxis are available at the airport for transportation to the hotel.

Train
There are several trains connecting Santander and Madrid, with a expected trip duration of about five hours. Information about timetables can be obtained in the web page of the Spanish railroad company RENFE. The Santander train station is located in the center of the city. Taxis are available at the train station for transportation to the hotel.

Bus/car
There are many buses from Madrid, Bilbao, Hendaye/Irun, to and from Santander. Bus-trips are a cheap and popular way for travelling in Spain. All buses stop in Santander at the bus station, located in front of the railroad station.

Boat
Twice a week, there is a ferry boat connecting Santander with Plymouth/Portsmouth (UK). The duration of the trip is around 24 hours, and it is operated by BRITTANY FERRIES

The main tourist attractions of Cantabria are undoubtedly its landscape and privileged natural environment, together with its great artistic monuments, such as the many caves with prehistoric paintings, the roman village of Julióbriga, the medieval village of Santillana del Mar, and many more.
