Since Nov. 2005 I am the coordinator for Ph.D. studies in my
department. I am proud that our Ph.D. program has received the
"Mention of Quality"
of the Spanish Ministry of Education, a distinction for the best Ph.D.
official programs in the country. We got this recognition in 2005 and
renewed it every year since then. The last evaluation gave us the
mention for the period 2008-2012.

Currently, we are in the process of
adapting our post-graduate courses to the new European Area of Higher
Education (EAHE) of Bologna's declaration. Our new Master+Doctorate
program, at the Faculty of Sciences,
has been designed according these new principles and regulations. The
Ph.D. program of this new post-graduate studies also got the
"Mention of Quality" in 2007.

Professional Master program in Mathematics in cooperation the
Universities of Oviedo, Pais Vasco (UPV-EHU), Pública de
Navarra, La Rioja and Zaragoza.

in Santander (Spain). With 63 members, it is the second largest
department in our University.
